Thank you to the 37 students from local stage schools who took part in our challenge and their equally marvellous dedicated staff.

In the presence of our Mayor, Trevor Martin, seven short plays were performed in response to the challenge of involving a crown and an explosive device in a devised piece of theatre.

Each group was awarded a customary commemorative plaque and a surprise professional workshop by
Sword and Scoundrel Theatrical Combat, courtesy of The Arden Theatre. Every student was also awarded their own personalised certificate.

The theatre was jammed to the brim with performers and audience members alike, celebrating youth theatre. The range of talent, creativity and joy of performance was entirely uplifting for all involved.
