Your theatre is celebrating 40 years of productions plus entertainment and educational services to the Faversham Community.
On May 28th 1983, the very first production was staged. Cold Old Blow was written by the theatre’s very own Maurice Patterson. It was naturally, very well received and so the Arden, Faversham’s theatre was born.
It is estimated that the walls of the theatre, an erstwhile mythical squash court, have witnessed over 300 shows and events.
Since that first production, the theatre has been central to the town’s culture. Geographically central too, it has a bright and exciting future. Our shows are attracting more and more audiences. Over the past few years, we have found the need to extend our performances from three nights a week to four. The Christmas show now offers eleven performances over a two-week period.
Our current production, Calendar Girls, ending on May 27th, is SOLD OUT!
Here’s to the next 40 years!
