Our foyer carpet has served us faithfully through years of growing audiences, bustling show nights, community events, and countless conversations between neighbours and friends. But with success comes wear and tear, and the existing carpet is now tired, worn, and stained — a visible reminder of just how well-loved our theatre has become.
To continue welcoming everyone with pride, comfort, and dignity, it’s time to renew the very floor that greets every audience member, volunteer, performer, and visitor.
The Great Carpet Caper is our way of inviting our community to help refresh this shared space and roll out a fresh start for the New Year.
As we celebrate our festive run of A Christmas Carol we’re reminded that even the smallest act of kindness can transform a community. Our faithful foyer carpet has carried thousands of footsteps, but like Scrooge at the beginning of his journey, it’s grown a little weary.
So this Christmas, we’re inviting everyone to join The Great Carpet Caper a simple, joyful way to help us lay a warm, welcoming new foyer carpet for the years ahead.
Every contributor will be thanked by name in our Carpet Roll of Honour, beautifully framed, alphabetised, and proudly displayed in the foyer for all to see. (You can remain anonymous, of course)
If you’re able, please donate whatever you can.
Together, we’ll create a foyer that reflects the heart, hope, and generosity of our theatre community.
Our target for the Year of the New Carpet is £5,000!
